If "our cards are laid out on the table" the client can then make an informed decision as to whether or not to retain our services. SAM is available to consult with or discuss its goodwill statement with clients at any time. Additionally, the prospective client will have accurate and reasonable expectations of what to expect from Sunflower, thereby lowering the chance of client dissatisfaction. Likewise, Sunflower can determine if clients' "style, expectations, and temperament" are conducive to success and compatibility with Sunflower's approach. If Sunflower believes they are not, then Sunflower will respectfully decline to establish a business relationship.

Once again, the process is looked upon as a two-way street, where Sunflower is carefully scrutinizing the compatibility of the prospective client with Sunflower. We believe that the responses of the prospective client provide subtle (and not so subtle) pieces of information that are important not only to SAM, but also to the client in determining whether or not an account should be opened. This process also is a critical factor in determining the client's risk tolerance level, which is essential to Sunflower when creating a personalized portfolio.

As it is a given that clients must develop a high level of trust in Sunflower, it is also critical that the client be just as trustworthy as they rightfully expect Sunflower to be. Sunflower relies on the honesty and accuracy of the written representations of the client in formulating investment strategy.

It is essential for clients to demonstrate ongoing character by standing by their written representations, and letting Sunflower know in writing of any changes in their objectives, circumstances, etc. Sunflower desires to avoid untrustworthy clients who engage in revisionist history and lapse into selective amnesia.
